Our Story
Freedom Church Chester was established in 2012. Keith and Rachel Cooper and their daughter Rosannah were called to plant this Newfrontiers church within the city walls of Chester. It is part of the Christ Central group of churches.
Keith still works two days a week as an optician. The rest of the week he leads the church team.
At Freedom Church the teaching is based on the authority of the Bible. We strive to be a worshipping spirit-filled community, where the evidence (‘fruits’ and ‘gifts’ in bible language) of the Holy Spirit at work is, well, tangible.
We value home, church and work life equally and view all of these as valuable in God’s Kingdom. Together we want to love and bless the city, and we feel the best way to achieve this is to be God’s hands, feet and mouth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and doing the things that Jesus Christ would do if He were physically here in Chester.
We strive to be a church on a mission, one which reaches the people of Chester and beyond with the love of God, and which grows by planting more churches.
